Talis Groups' company client is seeking a skilled and motivated Legal Secretary to join their dynamic team in supporting civil defense litigation attorneys. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in legal administration, excellent organizational skills, and a proactive approach to managing tasks in a fast-paced environment. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a renowned firm and work on high-profile civil defense cases. Will consider applicants for either part time hours or full time hours. Responsibilities:
Provide administrative support to civil defense litigation attorneys, including managing calendars, scheduling appointments, and coordinating meetings. Prepare and file legal documents such as pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery requests in accordance with court rules and deadlines. Assist with document management, including organizing and maintaining electronic and physical files. Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and other parties involved in litigation matters. Conduct legal research and compile case-related information as needed. Assist with billing tasks, including time entry and invoicing. Other administrative duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the legal team. Highlighted
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years of experience as a legal secretary or similar role, preferably in civil defense litigation. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and legal software (e.g., case management systems). Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Attention to detail and accuracy in document preparation and proofreading. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in handling sensitive information. Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to collaborate with colleagues. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
