Through the application of advanced economic and mathematical concepts, this position supports decisions related to the way the company's generating assets are utilized to produce electricity. Key deliverables include the development of production cost forecasts, resource expansion plans, and system reliability studies.
Develop resource expansion plans and production cost forecasts using proprietary modeling tools.

Evaluate proposals for new generating capacity and energy.

Support decisions that impact generation reliability.

Complete ad hoc revenue requirement analyses.

Develop written testimony and documents for regulatory filings.

Remain informed on issues within company and industry that are relevant to Generation Planning decision-making.

Qualifications
A baccalaureate or advanced degree in engineering, mathematics, or business. Experience supporting decisions with financial and risk analysis is preferred.
Good data processing skills (e.g., using SQL or SAS).
Good business acumen characterized by the ability to analyze complex information, isolate key issues, and draw logical conclusions.

Good decision-making skills (i.e., ability to define a problem, develop alternative solutions, identify key uncertainties, and apply logically correct reasoning in formulating a recommendation).

Understanding of statistical concepts used to evaluate risk and uncertainty.

Understanding of advanced Microsoft Excel concepts/tools (e.g., pivot tables, data tables).

Understanding of concepts related to revenue requirements and discounted cash flow analysis.
