Supervisory Criminal Investigator (Division Operations Officer)

The incumbent serves as the Division Operations Officer and is responsible for planning, directing, and monitoring the functions of the Division Operations Office. The position has responsibility for directing a staff involved in planning, management evaluation activities. The Division Operations Officer serves as the principal liaison between division personnel, The Special Agent in Charge (SAC), Director of Industry Operations (DIO), Assistant Special Agent (s) in Charge (ASAC), other components of the Bureau, and other Government agencies in matters relating to the division's operational activities and its intelligence and administrative programs. The Division Operations Officer is responsible for evaluating the effectiveness and efficiency of the Division programs; developing and evaluating procedures or policies that will increase the effectiveness of division programs; tracking and analyzing funds allocations and preparing budget reports; and coordinating and overseeing all division data processing and office automation hardware/software. To qualify for the GS-14 candidates must also have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level, GS-13. Specialized experience is demonstrated experience, which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position. Experience must be in the normal line of progression or must be related to the work of the position advertised and must be reflected in resume. Examples of specialized experience are:
Experience providing accurate information and guidance regarding procedures (i.e. arrest and processing; arrest principles); and handling of evidence and dangerous material; Experience applying relevant laws, regulations and policies to investigative resources and techniques (i.e. ATF Giglio Policy); Experience providing leadership to others such as workgroups, teams or special projects; Experience communicating orally and in writing (i.e. reports and briefings); and Experience negotiating and collaborating with others (i.e. interacting with other law enforcement agency (state, local or federal)

    $112,084 to $145,706 per year

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
