Tennant Company is currently seeking an Experienced Industrial Engineer to support the Operation s mission to be the center of operational excellence delivering the highest level of customer satisfaction by focusing on continuous improvement activities and root cause problem solving.
In addition, this role is responsible for the continued development, maturation, and implementation of the Louisville Distribution Center quality management processes.

GENERAL
Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for managing the plant s quality notifications
    • Manage order fulfillment error response and investigation process
    • Direct a small team of quality inspectors
    • Analyze the defects/complaints received from customers
    • Work on improving accuracy of picking/packing operations to reduce complaints
  • Support and recommend warehouse stocking strategies
    • Stocking plans
    • Inventory slotting exercises for optimizing capacity and throughput
    • Improving material flow
    • Evaluate storage systems
    • Racking address system
    • Maintaining Auto CAD layout of warehouse
  • Identify, support and lead actions for implementing cost improvement/lean projects, events, or Kaizens
    • Support the need for and capability of capital investments through statistical analysis
    • Develop business cases for productivity/automation as required
    • Manage projects to develop new technologies & processes
  • Support action items from Tier I, II & III meetings
  • Support Lean solutions waste reduction share successes with other plants
  • Create & implement standard work to drive consistency and improve productivity
  • Applies Six Sigma and Lean tools and techniques
  • Collaborate with Continuous Improvement Manager to assess the operations and develop CI vision and plans for the site
  • Support New Product Engineering team and new product launches for distribution
  • Maintain a floor presence to show support for the operations team and foster positive working relationships
  • Confer with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials or parts and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards
  • Support the estimation of production rates, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions
  • Enact engineered poke yoke solutions on reoccurring quality issues
  • Ensure the circulation and implementation of Quality Management System Guidelines within the plant, in compliance with company strategies
  • Ensure reports and documentation about quality-related procedures which are implemented in the assigned site/plant
  • Ensure the editing of reports about Quality indicators in the site/plant of his/her area of responsibility and the permanent monitoring of company process in accordance with company strategic plans

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • CAD / engineering drawing knowledge
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with peers and leaders to document and improve key processes

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor s degree from an accredited institution in Industrial Engineering OR related field
  • 3
    years of experience in a distribution environment (manufacturing also preferred)
  • Experience working in an ISO certified environment preferred
  • Experience documenting and leading a site in the establishment of ISO systems preferred
  • Experience in calibration
  • Strong experience in Continuous Improvement and Lean manufacturing.
  • Strong experience using poke yoke thought processes and root cause corrective action
  • Possess statistical knowledge and the ability to apply statistics to product and process improvement projects
  • Proven track record of innovation, ingenuity, creativity, attention to detail, ownership, integrity, accountability and willingness to seek challenging tasks/projects
  • Six Sigma certification and/or Formal Lean Training / Waste Reduction preferred
  • Experience with SAP or similar ERP software

REQUIRED PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Must regularly lift and/or moved up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move 40 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
  • Regularly required to stand, use hands to grip, handle or feel objects, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms
  • Frequently required to walk, talk and hear

SAFETY REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to wear safety glasses, steel toed shoes, protective gloves, and hearing protection

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
