Logistics Manager
Job description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Logistics Manager to join our team. As a Logistics Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the logistics operations, including procurement, warehousing, transportation, and vendor management. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and timely movement of goods and materials through the supply chain.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement logistics strategies, policies, and procedures to optimize efficiency and reduce costs Manage and coordinate all logistics activities, including procurement, inventory management, transportation, and distribution Oversee the selection and management of third-party logistics providers (3PLs) to ensure high-quality service and cost-effectiveness Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute supply chain initiatives Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas for improvement and implement process improvements Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to transportation, import/export, and hazardous materials handling Develop strong relationships with suppliers and negotiate favorable terms and pricing Lead the sourcing process for new vendors or suppliers as needed Manage the dispatching of goods to customers or other locations Oversee materials management activities, including inventory control, cycle counting, and stock replenishment Provide leadership and guidance to the logistics team, including training and development opportunities
Experience:
Proven experience in logistics management, preferably in a fast-paced environment Strong knowledge of supply chain principles and best practices Proficiency in using SQL or other data analysis tools for reporting purposes Demonstrated ability to drive process improvement initiatives Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) and other logistics software applications Familiarity with 3PL operations and vendor management Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex situations and make sound decisions Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams If you are a highly motivated and results-oriented individual with a passion for logistics and supply chain management, we would love to hear from you.
