ER Tech - Emergency DepartmentPart Time 24 weekly hours, night shiftEmergency DepartmentThe Emergency Department has thirty-two beds divided into four pods of eight beds each (staffed with one provider, two RNs and one tech per pod), and nine beds in the Clinical Decision Unit, this fast-paced ED treats an average of more than 150 patients per day.
Types of cases include acute cardiovascular and neurovascular emergencies, general medical emergencies, traumatic injuries and psychiatric patients.
We are recognized by the American Heart Association as both a STEMI receiving center and a designated Primary Stroke Center.
The ages of those treated range from neonate to geriatric.
An extensive orientation program allows the emergency nurse to work autonomously with a wide range of clinical specialties in treating the emergent patients and families.
The ED fosters high levels of teamwork and collaboration with a multi-disciplinary group of professionals.
New graduates with appropriate training and background are welcomed.
Job SummaryThe ED Tech assists the nursing and medical staff by performing selected procedures and emergent duties in the care of Emergency Department patients.
They also perform duties as Unit Secretary, thus having both a clinical and clerical aspect to their role.
All functions must be within the scope of training and instruction received and is under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse.

Performs desk duties in a clerical role with high levels of accuracy2.
Provides care appropriate to the emergency population and maintains the environment of care3.
Assists the nursing staff in triageMinimum Education, Training and Experience Required High School diploma or equivalent with recent experience in a health care setting providing patient care.
