The Operations specialist assists in formulating and implementing manufacturing plans that will ensure meeting the company's business and economic plans for the plantThe position specializes in the effective operations of the pigments and recovery units and assists with operation of the polymerization unitThe Operations Specialist assists in leading turn around efforts during the min and annual shutdowns by overseeing the complete shutdown and safe lock out of the Polymerization unit in conjunction with other members of the Poly staffJob Functions/Accountabilities (Essential & Marginal):
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Provide daily leadership to effectively address acute and chronic production problems in assigned areas Oversee the correct operation of the pigments and recovery units Provide additional support as needed across all poly areas Assist in implementation of capital projects Cover shift supervisor position in emergency scenarios Aid in the development and revision of plant operational procedures to address changes in equipment, or its operation Properly provide guidance to operators for equipment set up for maintenance Monitor adherence to plant safety procedures and work with employees at all levels to improve plant safety and 5S performance Strives for continuous improvement in safety performance through continued safety awareness and the prevention of unsafe actsMaintains operations to meet current environmental regulations and assists in developing and implementing plans for meeting future requirements Works for continuous improvement in quality through the application of SPS and maintenance of the ISO based quality systemPerforms routine calibrations on critical equipment, investigates the root causes of out of control materials, and implements corrective actions Assists in the overall management of the production unit to meet schedule requirements while maintaining the costs at or below budget levelsImproves employee output through optimizing operations and minimizing manpowerImplements new equipment in the area in cooperation with engineering and maintenance departmentsResponsibility includes OSHA and safety, procedural, operational, and/or work procedure training of personnel both for initial and recertification, qualification through either formal training or operational experience Continuously seeks ways to improve performance of our facility's operation and ensures that customer's (both internal and external) needs are metAdhere to the quality system Maintains adequate training for plant hazardous waste to potentially package hazardous waste, operate satellite accumulation container, or transport a hazardous waste to a hazardous waste storage areaLeads training of operators and supervisors in areas of expertise

Must have working knowledge of the polymerization department and associated equipment used in that areaMust have experience in chemical plant environmentMust possess skills to work independently to solve production related issuesWork Conditions:

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
