Education Coordinator

Summary of FunctionThe Education Coordinator will work with the Manager of Youth Development on coordinating the development and implementation of the out-of-school time (OST) and summer youth programming.
This includes being responsible for providing appropriate academic intervention for all youth participants.

Exhibits sound stewardship by effectively managing financial resources and physical resources to achieve the objectives of Neighborhood House.
Exhibits regular and punctual attendance.
Description of Essential Functions Work with Manager and staff to implement a cohesive and comprehensive youth development program for youth in 1st through 12th Oversee the program one day/week when program operates more than five days/week.
Oversee the program in the absence of the Manager.
Provide support to the manager and staff in the areas of planning, management, program execution, and communications.
Use appropriate materials and resources to help meet the educational needs of participants Work to engage participants' families in efforts to increase academic achievement.
Assists in the development of and provides management to additional programming that is educationally specific and outside of regular program hours.
Communicates and coordinates all scheduling of educational programming with the Manager of Youth Development.
Develop and facilitate program curriculum that mirrors Jefferson County Public School core content and remedial work.
Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with participants' school personnel to increase academic achievement.
Work with the Manager to ensure the program staff have the training, supplies, and day-to-day supervisory support necessary for them to effectively execute programs.
Assist with managing the maintenance of the spaces used by YDP; hardware and software needs, instructional materials, furnishings, and physical space.
Coordinate, along with Manager, grant-funded activities.
Facilitate assessments, working with Kidtrax and CASCADE for educational data analysis, tracking and measuring.
Attend meetings and committee events as assigned.
Other duties as assigned by:
Youth Development Manager Required Background and QualificationsBachelor's degree in Education or other relevant area that supports understanding of program and youth development.
Three years of paid experience in direct services to youth.
Required Skills Ability to articulate a vision about preparing youth for the future - from social, economic, cultural, and personal perspectives.
Skills and energies to support teamwork of staff, volunteers, and cooperation among other agency staff.
Relationship management skills and experience in fostering a team approach to youth development.
Excellent project management and planning skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience in an adult leadership capacity with youth.
Experience/competencies working in a multiracial, multicultural environment.
Experience and/or understanding of the development of youth development programs in a nonprofit setting.
Excellent computer skills.
Ability to drive personal vehicle and agency vehicles for transporting youth (requires excellent driving record).

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
