Against that backdrop, we are seeking an accomplished leader to join our team as Associate Vice President (AVP) of Marketing Data Platforms.
Humana's marketing and communications organization is transitioning itself to an always-on, multi-channel, automated marketing design model incorporating the adoption of best-in-class practices in digital marketing, customer experience design, and data-driven insights.
This leader will play a key role in this transformation and modernization effort.
In this role, you will be responsible for leading the strategic development and management of key marketing data platforms, systems, and related integrations supporting Humana's marketing and communications functions.
The purpose of this mission-critical role is to ensure that the marketing organization has the right data, of the quality, recency, and throughput to deliver world-class member engagement and multi-channel experiences, both now and into the future.
This includes planning, budgeting and leadership of the design, development, and implementation of new data platforms and systems, and the maintenance and enhancement of existing ones.
The AVP will work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, marketing, operations, and senior leadership to achieve strategic goals, identify opportunities, solve complex problems, and to ensure that data platforms meet the dynamic needs of the organization.
The AVP will lead a multi-level team of 20-25 employees and will report directly to the Vice President of Marketing Technology & Data Platforms.
This position can be located anywhere within the lower 48 states.
Responsibilities Key Responsibilities Collaborate and engage with cross-functional teams to understand business priorities and strategies to align technical approaches, roadmaps, and priorities to maximize the business value of data.
Lead the design and development of new data platforms, systems, and enterprise integrations.
Create and execute the roadmap for evolution & integration of marketing data needs.
Serve as a critical stakeholder in Humana's enterprise taxonomy; Participate as a member of a governing body to determine customer personalization priorities.
Stay up to date with innovative technologies and trends in data management, marketing technologies and analytics.
Partner with Operations and Finance to facilitate ROI (Return on Investment) calculation resource scale and efficiency.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders and senior leadership regarding data platform strategy, initiatives, and progress.
Work with IT partners to identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and effectiveness of the data platform development lifecycle.
Serve as Executive Product Owner and thought leader of Humana's Customer Data Platform, leading the strategic migration of legacy on-prem member data to the cloud, while assuring high quality, high availability of data for Humana's marketers to develop and execute campaigns.
Develop and implement strategies and architectures to manage and analyze member data for marketing activation.
Work closely with IT partners to create a vision and long-term strategy for member data platforms, including the maintenance and enhancement of existing data platforms and systems.
Serve as Executive Product Owner and thought leader of Humana's Prospect Data Platform, leading the strategic migration of legacy prospect data to a new cloud solution, while assuring high quality, high availability of data for Humana's marketers to develop and execute campaigns.
Act as the marketing data steward, managing all aspects of Marketing Data Strategy & Infrastructure across the lifecycle of the consumer (acquisition, engagement, retention) Serve as the DRI (Direct Responsible Individual) for Marketing's data privacy management practices and technologies; Provide thought leadership and data collection to inform Marketing attribution in the face of ever-changing cookie policy.
Advocate for universal tagging to enable track ability, foster test-and-learn environment.
Ensure compliance with relevant enterprise standards and other compliance measures.
Manage and mentor teams of data platform professionals.
Leadership Expectations The individual in this role will demonstrate the ability to synthesize complex information and communicate it to a wide variety of audiences:
Build and foster lateral relationships to accomplish their mission, spanning the marketing function, IT, operations, external 3rd party vendors and other Humana enterprise functions as needed.
Be a visible, thought leader within marketing and the business units the data teams serve.
Data is a critical component of Humana's marketing function and its current transformation program.
It will be critical for this individual to be an integral and active member of the set of teams involved in the transformation program.
Take decisive action in the face of ambiguity.
There are a lot of moving parts and not everything is a clear-cut choice.
Demonstrate agility and willingness to explore multiple avenues of thinking through problems and solutions.
Demonstrate technical acumen and show how technology can raise the realm of the possible in Humana's marketing activities.
Key Candidate Qualifications The ideal candidate will have extensive experience (typically 10
years) in data management, data governance, and data architecture, preferably within a marketing technology stack.
He/she will demonstrate strong understanding of data warehousing, data modeling, and data integration techniques, and will have familiarity with data governance and data quality best practices.
This person will also have a strong track record in successfully leading strategic marketing transformation initiatives.
Finally, the successful candidate will be a strong leader of people with proven success in expanding and elevating the capabilities and performance of the team.

Proven experience managing large-scale data projects.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify and solve complex data-related problems.
Persuasive communication and leadership skills to effectively manage cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Experience with Adobe and Salesforce technologies and Agile methodologies is a plus Strategic thinking skills with a focus on operational excellence and results An innovative mindset, with a strong drive to challenge the status quo, and demonstrated resilience in managing change and transformation Excellent oral and written communications skills, including the polish, poise, and executive presence that will ensure effective interaction with senior and executive level audiences Current or recent experience in a large, highly matrixed company (i.

, Fortune 150), with proven ability to influence leaders and key stakeholders in such an environment Highly collaborative mindset and excellent relationship-building skills, including the ability to engage many diverse stakeholders and SMEs and win their co-ownership in the outcome Demonstrated ability to toggle effortlessly between strategic and tactical activities Current or recent experience in the healthcare or insurance industry is desirable, but not required A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field is preferred.
