Job Description The Transportation Business Line of AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented and self-motivated Operations Leadership Manager , for immediate employment, in the Louisville, Kentucky office.
The appropriately qualified applicant will be able to demonstrate an established career in Civil Engineering specific to interchanges and interstate design, highway design, pavement design, drainage design, utility coordination, and the preparation of construction documents, including plans, specifications and construction estimates.
The successful candidate will lead a team in Kentucky and within the broader transportation team, serve as business development leader for transportation projects in the region.
Incumbent is expected to take part in sales and marketing leadership, project management and client management for transportation engineering projects.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Managing many aspects of transportation business development, operations and engineering for the Kentucky Transportation Business Unit.
This includes hiring and managing staff, budgets, and project technical development through preparation of final construction drawings.
Provide oversight to ensure consistent product quality and profitability of operationCoordinating with transportation business leaders in Indiana, Illinois, Ohio, Michigan and Kentucky in an effort to share resources, utilize technical strengths, ensure independent reviews of all deliverables, and identify key project opportunities as early as possibleManaging the financial performance of projects working with project managers and senior managers, including meeting monthly and annual performance goals for the Kentucky Transportation BusinessIdentifying, pursuing and winning profitable transportation projectsMeeting or exceeding predetermined operational metrics and business development targetsLeading proposal preparation and making presentations to potential large and complex clientsDeveloping and maintaining excellent client relationshipsProviding mentoring and technical expertise to employeesLeading multi-disciplinary projects as Senior Project Manager or PrincipalEnsure the delivery of quality professional services and deliverables by the transportation teamMaintaining a high local and regional profileIdentifying market needs and trendsProvides day-to-day operations management in support of the senior operations manager.
Responsible for ensuring the success of the alternative delivery business line in the Kentucky office on national, regional, and local projects from both the technical practice and operational management aspects.
Is responsible for project profitability and client satisfaction, as well as managing administrative functions to ensure the office runs smoothly.
Works in conjunction with regional management.
Will be responsible for building a group to support the backlog won by their group.
QualificationsMinimum RequirementsBachelor's degree and 10 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education, including 2 years of leadershipPreferred Qualifications15
years of experience as Project Manager and / or Group Leader with sales, financial, engineering, design, project management, and, client management responsibility on large transportation design and construction projects.
Past experience with large highway and expressway engineering projects and/or studiesProfessional Engineer in Kentucky or ability to obtain within 6 monthsBusiness development experience and a proven track record with large account management and complex engineering / technical salesExtensive experience preparing proposals and conducting presentationsPeople management experience, including managing an office and/or large projectsProficient with Microsoft Office SuitRecognized Business Development leader in KentuckyLeadership in growing the transportation business in past positionsStrategic Planning experience in the engineering fieldExperience serving as mentor and trainer of engineering staffAdditional InformationExempt Position:
Offered rate of compensation (KY) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
The salary range for this position is $123,000.
00 - $210,000.
