Quality Engineer
Skills Requiredo Reads and interprets customer drawings and specifications and identify appropriate inspection methods. o Interprets geometric dimensioning and tolerancing specifications. o Performs 1st piece, last piece, and in-process inspection checks. o Evaluates nonconforming material to determine final disposition. o Provides support to Manufacturing Engineering and other business units. o May direct the work of less senior personnel. o Maintains a safe work environment and ensures compliance with safety objectives and policies. o Uses laser tracker to align components to machine coordinates. o Determines best fit for weldments to optimize machine stock. o Supports when needed on off-shifts and/or via overtime.Experience Requiredo Possesses effective communication skills, both verbal and in writing, to convey information; o Computer literacy required to be able to prepare appropriate reports and documents. Proficient with Microsoft Office software (Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.); o Working experience with Ansi Y14.5 GD&T; o Experience reading and working with blueprints; o Work history with portable Metrology Inspection and Alignment; o Understanding of and the ability to use shop math; o Ability to support overtime and/or the off-shift team when needed.Education Requiredo Typically requires a High School diploma (or GED or equivalent) and 8 years related work experience, or an Associates Degree and 6 years related work experience, or a Bachelor's Degree and 4 years related work experience, or the overall equivalent;Additional InformationAdditional overtime may be needed to support the weekend shift (Friday, Saturday and/or) for 10-12 hours with limited notification.
