Reporting to the CEO and as a member of the
executive
Team, the CFO will play a critical role in driving the achievement of the Company's mission and assume a strategic role in the overall management of the company. The CFO will be responsible for directing operational and financial management encompassing accounting, finance, forecasting, strategic planning, legal, deal analysis and negotiations.

In this role, the CFO will work closely with the CEO on day-to-day operational, strategic and financial issues and will be responsible for overall company performance and effectiveness. The CFO will play a visible role within the B2B information sector and will be a thought leader internally and externally.

Responsibilities:

Collaborate with the CEO and corporate parent to establish and accomplish organizational goals, objectives and strategic plans, exploring growth opportunities and identifying key risks and success factors.

Advise the CEO on strategic business development and make recommendations on major business decisions.

Provides leadership in the development for the continuous evaluation of short and long-term strategic financial objectives.

Ensure credibility of Finance group by overseeing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial trends and forecasts in compliance with DMGI and DMGT accounting policies and guidelines.

Direct and oversee all aspects of the Finance & Accounting functions of the organization.

Evaluate and advise on the impact of long range planning, introduction of new programs/strategies and regulatory action.

Oversee processes for financial forecasting, budgets and consolidation and reporting to the Company. This will also include ad-hoc requests from DMGT/DMGI.

Work closely with Product Owners and CEO to provide recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance and business opportunities.

Ensure that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with UK, US GAAP and applicable federal, state and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.

Work with CTO to devise a plan to enhance capabilities to ensure technology infrastructure is competitively sustainable for the long term.

Overall accountability for delivering Genscape's three year plan ensuring effective and efficient resource utilization across all resource channels.

Oversee management of vendors as needed.

Ensure all regulatory and compliance measures are met.

Be organized and forward-thinking to ensure a quick response to rapidly evolving business needs.

Mentor and develop a direct team, managing work allocation, training, problem resolution, performance evaluation and the building of an effective team dynamic.

Overall, this
position
will be 80% strategic and 20% involved in overseeing day-to-day finance operational functions.


Education and
Experience:

Extensive and varied business experience, at least 10 years senior business management experience.

10
years in progressively responsible financial leadership roles, preferably in content-driven businesses.

BS in Accounting or Finance, CPA highly desirable.

MBA preferred.

Experienced at interpreting market trends, customer needs and various delivery models.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
