Position Purpose
The Gas Regulatory Associate I is an entry-level position responsible for assisting in the day-to-day management of pipeline safety inspections and other natural gas regulatory compliance programs. This position requires strict attention to detail as work impacts other internal and external resources and departments. The Associate position should ensure that the work efforts ensure a positive customer experience for both internal and external customers.

Major Accountabilities
Work well as a team member to develop and manage internal relationships and exercise professional judgment.
Learn programs processes for assigned area of responsibility - leak survey, curb valve inspection, public awareness, atmospheric corrosion, regulator change/data entry, priority and designated valves, cathodic protection, etc.
With guidance from supervision, identify and assign work to be given to field resources based on established guidelines
Ensure compliance with deadlines associated with the various assigned programs of responsibility
Identify and communicate potential problems with information systems, processes or compliance deadlines to supervision as needed
Research and report errors in company database applications (i.e. CCS, Smallworld, Storms, etc.)
Maintain accurate records for assigned programs that can sustain necessary audit reviews
Assist in the preparation of periodic statistical reports
Process various daily reports as directed by supervision when needed
Assist staff in the completion of paperwork from various compliance activities
Review documentation for paperwork for accuracy and completeness (i.e. reports, timesheets, etc.); Communicate documentation issues to responsible parties for correction
Learn applicable database systems as required for the position (i.e. CCS, STORMS/related work management systems, Smallworld, Oracle IPM, FIM, Fieldsmart, Ventyx-Service Suite, Gas Outage and Management reports, Distribution Operations Web reporting, RP 1162, and Cathodic Protection Data Manager)
Learn processes and perform tasks associated with other company functions such as material ordering, invoice processing, and timekeeping
Handle incoming telephone calls and be responsible for answering inquiries from customer, contract resources, and other company employees
Learn general federal and state pipeline safety regulation and company procedure requirements for the inspection programs the department section performs
Communicate clearly and professionally to other members of the group regarding errors and corrective measures
Other duties as assigned by management

Recommended Education/Experience
High school diploma or equivalent is required; Two year college degree preferably in a business field is highly desired; Successful applicant must be able to demonstrate experience and use of multiple database applications; One year of customer service experience analyzing and resolving data inquires or problem resolution; Demonstrated experience in process development, program performance management/measurement and program compliance is desired; One to three years of experience in handling direct communications from customers handling inquires is a plus; SAP experience a plus
Technical Skills
Must be able to analyze data and perform investigations with multiple systems (i.e. databases, geographic information systems, etc.); Effective communication and organizational skills are required; Applicant must demonstrate a history of accuracy and timeliness in maintaining multiple assigned duties; Able to identify potential problems and communicate issues effectively to improves processes and/or documentation; Can effectively with limited assistance and moderate supervision; Possess a working knowledge of MS Office with proficient knowledge and experience with MS Excel
