Summary:
Our client is seeking a System Administrator/Engineer to help plan, design, implement and troubleshoot a large Microsoft VMware server environment. An ideal candidate will be extremely proficient in both Microsoft and VMware servers and comfortable in adapting to new technologies. This job will entail all aspects of server administration for an environment with over 110 servers. Additional responsibilities include:
Be a great team player with ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment
VMware Account administration, capacity administration, backup and restoration administration
Install desktop and server hardware/software
Support end-users with hardware/software issues
Reporting and tracking using CA Advanced Help Desk
Utilize remote software to quickly resolve any server, OS, application, or software problem. Tier 2 support may be necessary.
Create, delete and modify permissions in Active Directory
Provide on-call support for Windows infrastructure (rotating schedule)
Control hardware/software inventory
Work with vendors and maintain relationships
Maintain inventory of hardware/software and documentation to ensure compliance
Oversee integrity of all system and data backups and implement controls to secure systems and sensitive data
Requirements:
Bachelors? degree in computer science or related field
MSCE certification
Citrix/Xenapp experience
Strong background working with VMware
Ideal candidates will have 5
years? experience in system support/administration
Working knowledge of TCP/IP and UDP protocols
Highly Desire:
Experience with Landesk 9.5 or later
Experience with Netbackup 7.0 or later
Experience supporting Citrix servers, XP/Vista/NT clients, and Exchange server
Understanding of VPN, RDP, Remote Assistant, and Radmin
Understanding of network topologies
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
