Summary:
This position is responsible for clinical contract utilization and standardization through team development at both the local and the regional level. In coordination with the HPG Custom Contracting for CHI Regional Managers, Data Analysts and the CHI Regional Materials Directors, provides input into the contracting processes and assists with contract implementation, monitoring and reporting. Serves as the expert clinical resource to assist the region and the Market-based Organizations (MBO) within the region in identifying, communicating, and implementing Value Analysis best practices.
Essential
Responsibilities:
Work with HPG Custom, Consorta and the regional MBOs (Market Based Organizations) to provide clinical direction on contracting requirements as defined by the Value Analysis teams.
Supports CHI Value Analysis best practices and established processes, policies and procedures for product introduction, review, analysis, and communication.
Participates as assigned on clinical committees and advisory boards of the group purchasing organizations and the CHI national VAST (Value Analysis Standardization Team) teams facilitating relationships and optimizing the value of the GPO for CHI.
Identifies and communicates clinical product standards across the region and MBO Supply Chain leadership with considerations for product standards, costs and reimbursement issues, and regulatory requirements through memberships in the various clinical groups (above) as well as in clinical research activities.
Trains MBO VAST teams in the principles of Value Analysis to achieve best practices. Coordinates and participates in the local MBO VAST teams as the Regional Supply Chain leader. Sets the monthly regional VAST Team agendas and works directly with MBO department leaders to move VAST projects forward.
Facilitates, coordinates and communicates the evaluation and selection of new products, supplies or equipment within the region as requested or in conjunction with CHI/HPG contracting efforts in collaboration with regional team members. Gathers feedback from user departments. Quantifies, analyzes and presents data to the appropriate national CHI VAST team and makes recommendations for consideration in determining whether item(s) should be standardized and/or used at CHI facilities.
Assists MBOs in working with vendors to coordinate, schedule and conduct training and to review new products in support of contracting and expense management efforts. Assists MBOs in working with vendors to coordinate re-calls and other regulatory issues.
Collects, analyzes and reports data on product and service performance of implemented clinical contracts. Works collaboratively with internal and external customers to achieve a maximized level of customer service and optimized cost reduction.
Keeps current on technology, regulatory and operational trends in the health care industry which may impact product/service selection and utilization.

Qualifications
Education:
BS in Nursing required.
Advanced certification in project management and healthcare finance and/or desirable.

Experience:
10 years experience in clinical operations, with at least 5 years in a management setting.
Project Management experience is essential
Strong ICU and CCU background is essential
Detailed knowledge of Clinical and Non-Clinical Healthcare Products best practices.
Experience with large, complex, multi-level organizations and the ability to work effectively in a geographically diverse environment.
Strong leadership skills, including strategic thinking, change management, team building, and internal/external relationship building.
Excellent communications skills. Proficient presentation skills to MBO Senior Leadership and Physician Groups within the region.
Ability to support CHI Custom Contracting, Value Analysis Processes, and Local Supply Chain Management throughout the region.
Knowledge of cost accounting and clinical effectiveness/Value Analysis process.
