Job Description The Associate Release Engineer will coordinate between Engineering / Development, Product, QA, and Operations to deploy live site production code for high-volume, high-traffic, end-user facing global web properties. The Associate Release Engineer will also assist in developing and improving the release process for our PHP, JavaScript, and CSS code base. The successful candidate will have experience with and a desire to develop, implement, and maintain build & release systems within a UNIX / Linux environment. The ideal candidate will have a solid working knowledge and / or experience with products such as GIT, JIRA, Jenkins, Bamboo, Confluence, and Stash.
Required Qualifications
Experience
Installing, configuring, and debugging production quality end-user facing applications and software
Technical Skills
At least 1
year(s) experience working with the following:
(a) Web Standards; the DOM; cross-browser & cross-platform (X)HTML
(b) CSS positioning, hierarchy and (X)HTML/CSS architecture
(c) JavaScript (Native and Frameworks) and AJAX (w/ Restful API access)
(d) PHP or equivalent server-side scripting language (Ruby, Python, JSP, , etc.)
(e) Java or equivalent programming language (C#, C, C++, Objective C, etc.)
(f) XML or JSON
Non-Technical Competencies
(a) Ability to work as part of a close-knit cross-functional team
(b) Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
(c) Excellent attention to detail and a high-level of accountability
(d) Ability to estimate development schedules
Preferred Qualifications Extra Credit
(g) Experience with HTML5, CSS3, jQuery, Compass, SASS, Symfony, PhotoShop
(h) Knowledge of Agile and/or similar development methodologies
(i) Mobile application development (iPhone iOS (Objective-C), Android (Java, C, C++))
