The Cashier is responsible for cash handling, often in high volume situations. The cashier must be a trustworthy person who can follow established guidelines, procedures, and policies for cash accounting controls as prescribed by company standards and strictly abides by state liquor regulations, particularly those prohibiting service entry to minors and intoxicated individuals. He or she interacts with guests and staff in a cordial, efficient, and professional manner and rings guests up, collects cash, and processes credit charges following company policies and procedures. In addition, the cashier maintains the coat check service (where applicable), abides by uniform standards, and ensures proper cash handling procedures are maintained.
The ideal candidate for this position has a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of experience in a high-volume establishment is preferred. He or she has previous experience handling money and operating point-of-sales (POS) and credit/debit card processing systems and can work a flexible schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays. Fluent English speaking and written communication skills, good time management skills, and professional dress, speech, and behavior are all required for this position.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
