We are recruiting for a
Senior Telecommunications Engineer
to join our Information Systems Department in Louisville, Kentucky.
This position is responsible for working directly with end users, vendors, and other suppliers to analyze, recommend, design, and implement telecom network solutions and technologies. Evaluates and recommends new technologies as they relate to the businesses network strategy. Develops and maintains departmental design standards. Provides technical leadership and guidance to less experienced team members. Continually enhances departmental knowledge and skills.
Essential Functions:
Analyzes, designs, develops, implements, and troubleshoots new telecommunications systems/networks and solutions. Provisions, troubleshoots, and recommends cellular phones and cards. Supports less experienced telecom engineers in performing daily MAC's (moves/adds/changes).
Negotiates telecom strategies, costs, and schedules with all levels of IS management to meet agreed upon requirements, deadlines, and goals.
Actively builds and maintains relationships with user community, vendors, specialists and developers in order to understand business needs and requirements related to the design of new networking technologies.
Performs, evaluates, documents, and communicates technology evaluations and installations. Provides guidance on evaluations and installations performed by team members.
Supports department staff in the analysis, solution, and documentation of network issues and problems. Analyzes and resolves errors escalated by less experienced team members.
Works with management to develop, communicate, implement, and maintain network design policies, procedures, standards, and best practices.
Continuously monitors department processes and recommends to management new and innovative ideas for improvement.
Serves as Telecom Engineering lead on multifunctional project teams within IS and across lines of business as required to support business requirements. Supervises Telecom Engineers and vendors throughout life of project. Ensures that all solutions and changes are cost effective and are within overall functional strategies, goals, and objectives.
Creates and delivers project review presentations and technical reports to Divisional leadership and the standard IS internal and executive project review committees.
Provides technical direction and education to telecommunications specialists, systems network users, and vendors.
Coaches, mentors, and provides feedback to less experienced team members regarding departmental procedures, policies, and standards that pertain to the Telecom Engineering department.
Solicits feedback and guidance of department best practices from management.
Continually enhances knowledge of Telecom Engineering and Kindred standards in order to achieve departmental success and professional growth.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Established successful application and capabilities italicizing advanced technical tools related network engineering including:
PBX/Telephone System and Peripheral Architecture (i.e. additions / replacements).
LEC and IXC Services (Trunking and Data).
Wireless: Cell phones and cards
Equipment Services Deployment (i.e. boxes).
Special Projects (i.e. RFP's for National PBX Maintenance., Disaster Recovery.
Northern Telecom, Toshiba Platform, and Cisco VOIP.
Analytical ability to determine user problems and recommend solutions.
Proven knowledge and ability to analyze and solve complex logical problems such as those found in the study of mathematics, statistics, or electrical engineering.
Ability to manage projects, ensuring that projects are clearly defined, systematically executed, and results oriented. Adherence to Project Management best practices, processes, and standards within the organization are required.
Establish skills to coach and mentor less experienced Telecom Engineers.
Current working knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating system software.
Capable of working independently and delivering appropriate and timely feedback to senior team members and management as required.
Approximate percent of time required to travel: 10%.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Communications, Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.
Any technical or other certification that pertains to or enhances job performance.
5 years of related telecommunications work experience.
Depending on candidate's qualifications, this position may be filled at a different level.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
