Sr. Networking and Support Specialist
for a manufacturer's headquarters in Louisville, KY. The right person will provide systems support to suppliers and internal users. Position requires high level hardware and software troubleshooting, excellent end-user support skills, and a solid understanding of networking principles.
This manufacturer needs someone with at least 1 year of experience with implementation and administration of Windows Server 2008 and 2012 as well as Helpdesk support for Windows XP, 7, 8 OS and Microsoft Office 2010 and 2013. Should also have experience troubleshooting PC and Network hardware and software - switches, routers and Wireless Access points, experience with telecommunication systems, VOIP, WANs, LANs and TCP/IP, as well as Firewall and Spam filter administration and Microsoft Exchange Management
MAJOR DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
Support and Purchasing of desktop software, hardware and peripherals, including cell phones, PCs, printers, faxes, scanners, etc.
Imaging of all new PCs and installation of needed software
User account creation and termination via Active Directory, Exchange, and AS400
Support of Microsoft Exchange Server
Support of Intranet / Extranet sites
Provide network support and monitoring
Administration of Virtual Servers using VMware
Maintenance and Server support
Other duties as assigned
ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent experience
AS/400, VMware, and Avamar administration experience a plus.
Proficiency with MS Office, Server 2008 and Server 2012 required.
50% Travel and 24/7 emergency support availability.
Strong Customer Service orientation
Team player
Willingness to lean and take on new tasks as needed.
Critical thinking and problem resolution skills
