Health & Safety Specialist
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide leadership and guidance on all safety-related issues in a chemical plant environment.
- Lead and participate in injury prevention, champion, and continuously improve the existing prevention systems/programs.
- Participate in development, implementation and maintenance of plant safety systems including but not limited to:
- accident/incident prevention systems.
- safety training programs.
- HSES policies and procedures.
- accident/incident prevention systems.
- Lead the Plant HSES committee, provide direction and guidance, drive for participation and action
- Lead the Plant in maintaining and exceeding compliance of all Occupation Safety standards and company policies
- Participate and provide leadership in plant emergency response systems
- Represent facility in community outreach and related-external organizations
SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SPECIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Three to five years of experience in a chemical manufacturing environment
- B.
S.
in safety engineering, safety leadership or a related field - Proven leadership skills.
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to deal with individuals at all organizational levels.
- Occasional travel required.
CONSIDERED A PLUS:
- Experience in a PSM-regulated (OSHA 1910.
119) facility
