Maintenance Coordinator

Role:

To maintain process equipment in proper working order.
Supervise craftsmen for the plant which includes Machinist, pipefitters, electricians, instrument tech, oiler.
Plan and schedule work for craftsmen Purchase, parts, materials, tools needed for the department.
Participate in CIP projects in various areas of the plant.
Participate in daily MDI and production meetings in various areas of the plant.

Duties/
Responsibilities:

  • Safety/Health/Environmental/Security
    • It is expected that all activities will be performed in accordance with established safety and environmental control requirements and within the framework of the plant s Responsible Care Management System (RCMS).
      The Maintenance Coordinator should participate in RCMS-related activities and provide input on ways to improve the system.
      It is further expected that the Maintenance Coordinator Engineer will play an active role in the Departmental efforts to improve the working environment to ensure the safety and health of all employees.
      He/she should at all time demonstrate, by word and actions, a high level of commitment to these concerns.
  • Cost Control/Reduction
    • It is expected that the department will operate at or below budgeted costs.
      It is a specific responsibility of the Maintenance Coordinator to actively seek ways of meeting this requirement.
      Areas of opportunity would include, but not be limited to, process or product changes which would improve material efficiencies, would reduce energy consumption, maintenance, manpower requirements, or would reduce production of non-prime material.
      Close cooperative contact with all members of the business team will be necessary to succeed in fulfilling this requirement.
  • Provide leadership in the troubleshooting of equipment problems and implementation of appropriate corrective actions.
  • Be sensitive to the people factor in the business equation.
    Strive to develop and maintain open communication and enhance the teamwork approach to problem solving activities.
  • Decisions normally made without guidance from superiors or others:
    • Modifications in equipment operating procedures as may be required to meet safety, environmental, quality or cost requirements which would not be expected to change the product from the customer s viewpoint.
  • Decisions normally referred to superiors or others for guidance:
    • Any equipment changes which could change the product as seen by the customer.
      Changes involving production schedules or accounting procedures.
  • Input into short term planning for the purpose of meeting immediate production, maintenance, and technical needs.
  • Input into long term planning involving operating and capital budgets as well as departmental goals and objectives and strategic plans to achieve them.
  • Work Relationships:
    • Manufacturing Manager To develop strategies relative to successful contribution to business goals.
      To review day to day operations, safety, quality, and productivity.
    • Safety/Environmental Engineer Regarding questions relative to safety or environmental control.
    • Area Leader To review production status.
      To coordinate availability of production equipment for maintenance work.
    • Production Engineer To review any maintenance issues pertaining to technical status.
    • Shift Supervisors To coordinate and review status of off shift maintenance.
    • Vendor Representatives To obtain information regarding materials and equipment regarding new processes or problems with existing processes.
      To determine vendor capability to meet Lubrizol requirements.
  • Leadership and support to the shift supervisors and maintenance supervisors.
    Leadership and support to maintenance craftsman.

Skills, Qualifications, Experience, Special Physical Requirements:

  • Five years experience in a manufacturing environment is necessary to effectively perform this assignment.
  • Experience with PSM regulations and compliance
  • Must have strong electrical background.
    • Must be familiar with NEC 2020 and NFPA 70
    • Must be familiar with 70e arc flash
  • Skill requirements include equipment troubleshooting, clear and concise verbal and written communications, computer literacy.

Considered a Plus:

  • Knowledge of SAP transactions and purpose.
  • NEC Journeyman or Licensed Kentucky electrician
  • Hazardous materials handling and Safety management experience.
  • Ability to read working drawings including P&ID s
  • PLC programing, putting parameters in VFD s.
    calibrating instruments,
  • LOTO knowledge and training
  • Supervise in a union shop
